Frequently asked questions
General
We deliver nationwide across mainland UKÂ using our trusted pallet delivery network. This allows us to supply high-quality kiln-dried firewood to customers wherever theyâre based, not just locally.
Deliveries are made as a kerbside pallet drop. Please ensure there is suitable access for a large delivery vehicle (up to an 8-wheel rigid lorry).
If youâre unsure whether delivery is possible to your address or postcode, feel free to contact us before ordering.
How will my firewood be delivered?
All our bulk firewood loads are delivered palletised (stacked on a pallet). It arrives on a large delivery lorry and is unloaded using a pallet truck.
Is the delivery kerbside or can you bring it up my drive?
Deliveries are kerbside only as standard â that means weâll place the pallet at the nearest safe spot to the road/public access point.
If the driver can safely get a little closer (for example onto a flat, solid driveway), they might do â but itâs always at the driverâs discretion on the day.
What does âkerbside deliveryâ actually mean?
Kerbside means we deliver to the closest safe, accessible point outside your property. We canât guarantee delivery to your back garden, wood store, or any location that needs moving the pallet by hand.
What kind of vehicle do you deliver on?
Because your firewood is delivered on a pallet, it comes on a large lorry. If your road is narrow, has tight turns, low branches, weight limits, or awkward access, please let us know before ordering so we can advise.

Do I need to be in for delivery?
It helps, but itâs not essential as long as access is clear and thereâs a safe place to leave the pallet. If youâve got a preferred drop spot, leave a note at checkout (or message us).
Can the pallet truck go over gravel, grass, or steep slopes?
Pallet trucks need a firm, flat surface (think tarmac, smooth concrete, or level block paving). They generally donât work well on gravel, grass, mud, steep inclines, or rough/uneven ground.
If your drop spot involves any of the above, we may need to leave it kerbside.
Can you lift it over a wall / up steps / through a gate?
Unfortunately not â a pallet truck canât do steps, and the pallet canât be carried. Gates, narrow paths, steep drives, soft ground, and tight turns can all limit how close we can get.
Is the pallet returnable?
No â the pallet is not returnable. Itâs included as part of the delivery and youâre welcome to keep it (handy for logs, DIY projects, or kindling!)
What do I need to do before delivery day?
A few quick things that really help:
⢠Make sure the route to the drop point is clear
⢠Move cars if they block access
⢠If you want it on a drive, make sure itâs flat and solid
⢠Tell us in advance about tight lanes, low branches, weight limits, or restricted access
What happens if access isnât suitable for the lorry?
If the driver canât safely reach your address or unload due to access issues, weâll do our best to find a workable solution â but it may need to be left at the nearest safe drop point, or in some cases delivery may need rearranging.
If youâre unsure about access, just message us â weâd much rather help upfront than have a drama on delivery day.
Can the driver always put it exactly where I want it?
Not always â safety comes first. The driver will place the pallet where it can be unloaded safely with the pallet truck. Any extra manoeuvring beyond kerbside is a bonus, not a promise.
If you have a gravel drive, tight access, or any concerns at all, please contact us before ordering so we can advise.
Kiln-dried logs have been dried in a controlled environment to a moisture content of 20% or less, making them far superior to most seasoned logs.
Benefits include:
⢠Burn hotter and more efficiently
⢠Easier to light
⢠Produce less smoke and tar
⢠Better for your stove and flue
⢠More heat per log â less wasted wood
Seasoned logs can still hold high moisture levels inside, even after long storage, leading to poor performance and more mess.
Thereâs no single standard size for a âseasoned loadâ, which is why comparisons can be confusing.
As a general guide:
⢠12â14 of our nets (loosely unpacked) is roughly equivalent to 1 loose cubic metre
⢠Many âseasoned loadsâ vary widely in moisture content, log size and actual volume
Our kiln-dried logs are consistently sized, properly dried, and sold by clear quantities, so you always know what youâre getting.
